SO those peaches I mentioned got ripe good and quick and I had a fresh quart of buttermilk in the fridge. here are my results...I sort of followed the buttermilk ice cream recipe from The Lee Brothers Southern Cookbook, which is a new treasure. I just ate that for my breakfast. It was tart and sweet and creamy and worth blanching a mess of peaches.
I like the fact that you had a fresh quart of buttermilk in the fridge. You know... just laying around.
ReplyDeleteBTW, feel free to drop off a quart of this ice cream at La Peq BK ANYTIME!
i can attest to the fact that this was AMAZING. nick inhaled his and tried to steal the rest of mine. it was so tangy and peachy and decadent.
